Huawei Modem Configured by Autorun after Installation

Problem: After installation of the driver, modem interface is running but does not get the network bar and shown an error as “The device has been disconnected or is unavailable”,


Model: Huawei EC169, Huawei EC122 and Huawei EC167




Solution: This problem is occurred when the Autorun of Microsoft Windows is disabled by operating system or antivirus. Therefore, the drivers can not configure the device as modem and its ports automatically. To solve this modem, you go to My Computer, right click on Zoom after plug-in the modem in USB and click on Open.



Now click on AutoRun.exe and wait.



Now, you will see a message in taskbar, that new hardware is found and it is configuring.



The modem interface will run automatically and the Network bar will display and you can connect with internet.



Note: If you face such problem, then same processes need to follow after plug in the modem with each USB.

Note: If you get an error message to execute this process then disable the Antivirus settings for temporary.

Modem is busy by other application

Problem: Modem is busy by other application but there is no antivirus or other application installed which  can engage the modem. Sometimes it shows device is connecting, but unable to connect.

Solution: In case of Windows Xp, go to Control Panel > Network Connection and remove the tick mark from Advanced > Operator-Assisted Dialing


In case of Windows 7, go to Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center, and click Change adapter settings. If there is no menu bar, then press Alt key to get menu bar. Now remove the tick mark from Advanced > Operator-Assisted Dialing.

Disabling Auto dialer of Microsoft Windows

Problem: Auto dialer sometime creates problem like always asking connection even you do not want to connect or dial. This dialer usually comes when any application or software is going to attempt to get remote assess connection.






How to disable: To disable the option click the Settings button and select Never dial a connection and Apply the settings.



Permanently disable this option in Windows Xp, go to Control Panel > Network Connection and click Advanced (in menu bar)> Remote Access Preference. Now remove the tick mark from My Location (the current location)



In case of Windows 7, go to Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center, and click Change adapter settings. If there is no menu bar, then press Alt key to get menu bar. Now click Advanced (in menu bar)> Remote Access Preference. Now remove the tick mark from My Location (the current location)

Microsoft Windows Services Need for Dialup Modem

Problem: Few windows services should be in start status neither dialup modem unable to get connection. If these services are disable or in stop status, then the following problems you may face


a)      Dialup connector will not work
b)     If click on Connect of modem interface then no respond and will show a disconnected message
c)      No dialup connection will show in Control Panel> Network Connection.
d)  Modem not configuring and take times to configure




Solution: To solve this problem you have to start these services by following below statement,

Click on Start> right click on My Computer> click on Manage.

Now select the service which is required to start, right click on the service and click on Properties.

Now, select Startup type as Automatic and click on Star button. Click Apply.

Now check the service status as below,
